If you're anything like me you've probably started missing the BTCC action by now. When you're in the middle of a season, it feels flat-out. When you're not racing you're down the gym or sorting stuff on the car, and a small part of you wishes you could just sit in front of your PS2 for a day or just go out for a curry on a Saturday night. Then the season ends and, seven weeks on from Brands Hatch, I've got itchy feet again!
I've been busy working out and doing bits and bobs around my place that I didn't have time to do during the season, but I've got fed up of that already! Me and my brother Dan both have karts so we're going to take them out for a play at Shennington - the track where I started out. A real blast from the past! It's good to have a bit of fun, especially for Dan, who spends his BTCC race weekends in the team garage while I have all the fun on track. Doesn't mean I'll let him beat me at karting, though. I've also done a photoshoot at home, but the less said about that the better as I hate having my picture taken at the best of times - and especially when it lasts a couple of hours!
This weekend was the TOCA awards, hosted by Steve Rider, where I picked up my runners-up trophy. I don't exactly enjoy dressing up like a penguin, but as usual everyone dropped their guard and the atmosphere was a bit different to at a race. There was a stand-up comedian picking on members of the audience, and he got Fabrizio up on stage doing break dancing. Thankfully I escaped! It's nice for the family and the other team members to have a few drinks and enjoy what we've achieved this year, although I'm already thinking about beating Giovanardi next season.
While it's a bit quiet I've got time to answer any questions, so email media@matjackson.com if there's something you want to ask. Right, I'm off to fix this kart...
