Jackson "bowled over" with Fans Trophy 

Double Brands Hatch race-winner Mat Jackson said he was "bowled over" by the trophy presented to him on the the start-finish line by BTCC.net fans after they voted him their favourite driver of the 2008 season.

BMW Dealer Team UK driver Jackson raced to two emphatic victories to finish runner-up to Fabrizio Giovanardi in the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship's final Drivers' standings.

Having won race one Jackson stepped onto the grid to meet Kerry Earl and Russ Petty who organised the Fans Trophy on the BTCC's official website... before going on to add a second victory in race two.

"I'm bowled over by it," Jackson told BTCC.net. "It's a great looking trophy and will be going on top of the TV in the living room at home. The BTCC's fans are among the most dedicated and knowledgeable of any sport, but for them to go to these lengths is something else. The whole team is immensely proud to know we've got so much support."

Kerry Earl said: "I would just like to say thanks to the BTCC.net forum members who parted with their hard earned cash to make the Fans Trophy a success and also a thank you to Mat Jackson and his family for being so accommodating to the both of us."

Kerry and Russ's day included VIP paddock passes, an exclusive tour of the BTCC grid and they were also invited to join the BMW Dealer Team UK squad to watch from its pit garage as its driver was winning out on the track.
